What happens when a 5 year old....

is rollerskating in Muddy and Guppy's basement and turns around quickly with his cheek meeting a shelf.

The good news is that he WAS wearing his helmet.

Ben the builder

Benjamin has taken to building with his Timber Tumble (aka knock off Jenga) blocks. Here are two of his creations.
He was so excited to show how he managed to have the blocks lean against each other, etc.

It's like stone henge in little blocks.

Fancy

Brian and I got to go to a black tie fundraising gala on Friday night, while Addie and Ben spent the night at Muddy and Guppy's house. We even bought Brian a tuxedo finally, so we never have to rent another one!

Lesson learned

In case anyone was ever curious about what it looks like when you suck the air out of a bottle for a long time.

It's virtually a hickey mustache...aye caramba. He realizes that's not a good choice ever.again.

Addie's school play

Room 109 has been practicing a play for the past week. Each student was assigned a character and the teacher grouped kids together to perform the play. They've rehearsed a lot and today was the grand performance.
Addie's group was first.

After watching all of the other groups perform as well, all I can say is how hard it must be for the teacher to have such a broad range of abilities in the class. There were some groups where, in total 100% honesty, I couldn't tell what language the kids were speaking- if one at all. It was really surprising.
Overall though, my daughter rocked it like a superstar. I like how you can see Addie lip sync all of the other people's roles too.
For some reason it's no loading, so you'll have to go to Youtube to see it.

Tough to believe...

but Sprinkle and Sparkle are still going strong!! I guess that very delicate eco-system was a load of baloney! I swear each day I ask Addie very hesistantly, "are they still alive?"

Happy birthday to my little brother Jeremy today too! Welcome to the 30s!!
